 Last year in October, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) launched the ‘Bharat Fibre’ broadband plans that came to compete directly from the fiber broadband offerings of Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. BSNL offers broadband plans that are very similar in price and benefits as that of the plans offered by other major internet service providers (ISPs). Users get not only a ton of data benefits but also over-the-top (OTT) benefits. There is also a free landline connection included with the plans to offer users unlimited voice calling. DoT May Postpone India 5G Auctions To Next Fiscal Year Owing To Telco Cash Crunch

 The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) had recently approved the applications from telecom companies for conducting 5G trials in India. Telcos were supposed to begin 5G trails in India in the coming months. However, a couple of days later post the approval, the trials were reportedly pushed to Q1 2022. A report claimed that the DoT wants to prioritise a stable network during the pandemic, and has hence put off decisions on spectrum availability and pricing. Indus Towers FY4Q net profit up 38% on year

 New Delhi: Indus Towers posted a net profit of Rs 1,364 crore for the January-March quarter, up 38% on year, but remained flat sequentially, even as the tower company continued to report highest tower additions for two successive quarters. “On the operational front we continued our strong momentum in 4Q’21 and delivered the highest ever annual gross tower additions,” said Bimal Dayal, Managing Director and CEO, Indus Towers.
